North-Central guys, where do you get tires?
 

Wondering where you guys get tires & find your best prices.

In the past I have gotten a lot of tires from sam's club, but for new tires for the truck I'm eyeing Rainbow Tire and Tireland (on the Mileground in morgantown). Anybody on here ordered from either place?

What size and kind of tire are you looking for? I might be able to hook you up.

Well, I'm not really looking at getting them immediately, but I'm wanting to get some good, nice looking all-terrain 285/75R16's for my truck eventually (probably closer to when I start driving it).

I just bought a set of Cooper ST 285/75-16 tires for mine last week, 173 each if I remember right.

After spending last night out plowing snow, I like them.
I did most of my plowing in two wheel drive till I got to the steep lots.

I followed a few trucks that were having a hard time just driving up a hill.

I bought mine at Bridgeport Tire in Bridgeport.

They also have a Cooper SST which is more of a mud tire, but the expected mileage life was about 10,000 miles less.

Dave, those are actually one of the tires I was seriously looking at, in that same size (that or the Mastercraft Courser C/T).

Glad to hear that they got good reviews, I may seriously look into those.

My last tires were Mastercraft Courser CT.
I got about 28000 miles out of them.
Also when they were almost new I had a large gravel run right through the tire at the place on Scott Avenue as it happens.
I made it down to the tire shop along the river before it went flat.

The Coopers are much better for traction in the snow, that is about all I can say at this time.
I was pulling up a hill, the truck in front of me was having all kinds of problems even moving.
I pulled mine back in 4x4 and nailed the throttle.
Neck snapping was all I can say about how the truck took off.
My bill for the tires is beside me, I paid 183 each plus tax.
4 tire disposal fee and a front end alignment with tax the bill was 830.99 total.

They look like they should do well in the mud.
The Mastercraft did not clean well in the stickie stuff.

I used to run Bridgestone RMT 285/75-16's, but when the price went over 230 and I was only getting a little over 20,000 miles with the IFS front axle out of them I went elswhere.
They were a very good mud/snow tire, but the mileage left a lot to be desired.

I also just ran into a guy running the Cooper SST, he had about 15,000 miles on his on an F350 Stroke.
Looked like almost 1/2 the tread was still there, so the mileage hit might not be as bad as Bridgeport Tire led me to believe.

I've got the Mastercraft Coursers on mine. It's been a good all around tire. I was talking with the service mgr at the dealership where I bought the truck and he says they like them because they're the Cooper economy line...they don't get many complaints about the tire.

I've wanted to check out a set of Michelins. I figure I'll have to start saving pennies now to afford a set of them. I have a set of used BF Goodrichs that somebody gave me. They look like they've got plenty of tread on them but I since I don't know anything about them, I'll hold them in reserve .

I'm looking for a good set of all season tires that'll get me at least 30K and not require a mortgage.

I've gotten tires from tire rack a couple times, but once you figure in shipping it isn't always such a great deal. They don't have that great of a selection of truck tires either.
