intake manifold torque specs?
Hi,
I am installing an aluminum Clifford intake on my 300. Can anyone tell me what the torque mounting specs are for an aluminum intake on this motor? I have posted this same question on a few other message boards, but haven't had any replies yet. I'm wondering if anyone really knows? Thanks. |

I did the same thing. I just went with the stock torque specs in the Haynes Manuals. You'll really love the stuff when you put it on. Oo. I really love mine!! :-D

Well, I thought maybe the factory specs might have been a little much considering the aluminum. That's the reason I asked. Thanks Wildjon. I'll let ya know if I spin the rubber off my rims after I'm done, haha. Thanks!

The stock lower intake on the newer 300's is aluminum & the torque specs are not a lot either , 22 Ft lbs to 32 Ft Lbs & make sure you torque the bolts in the proper sequence as well . Id go with a lower torque setting too , I cracked a lower intake going with the 32 Ft Lb setting , it snapped one of the ears off that the bolts contact . 25 Ft Lbs seems to be plenty in my experience .

Thanks for the replies. I got my truck running last night. Today I've got to install my Lokar accelerator pedal and cable and hook my muffler back up. I couldn't believe this was the same motor when I fired it up! You can actually hear the cam now that the motor is able to breathe. The motor has an Isky 262 supercam whtich has a .445 valve lift and 208 deg. duration on a 108 center. I didn't think you would hear the cam very much, but oh man! I'll get a picture uploaded maybe sometime today.
