Happy ThanksGiving
 

Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned --
the dark meat and white but I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
floating into the sky with a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees ...
Happy eating to all -- pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs.

tewforford- Four day weekend ????? I have been on vacation since the 9th and if you don't have a chance to knock back some beers, I'll maake sure to take care of a few for you!!!

I personally am traveling down to Cortland with my wife to spend the day with her family. Nothing better than getting a bunch of Irish people together with beer. :-bigparty

Vacation or laid off! Hope it's the V word. As far as drinking beer. I haven't stopped since 1970. Have a great holiday, say high to the family.

No it is vacation. Both the wife and I work for the government. She works for a town and I work for the county. My wife is unable to carry over vacation time from one year to the next so for the last two years we have taken the time off from Veteran's day to after Thanksgiving.

Geesh.... you have been drinking beer for a year less than I am old.

We had a good time with the family and made it home before the weather got too crappy for us.
