How much is it worth?

Iam going to look at a 74 F250 4x4 4speed with a v8 in it. Its pretty solid, no body rust i can see, and starts and runs. My question is 1. What v8s were offered in this year? 2. Is his asking price of $1000 reasonable?

yes $1000 is really reasonable, jump on it. Not sure what v8 engines were offered for a 250 that year, but more than likely a 351M, but might be a big block. I'm not real sure though.

It probably will be a 360. $1000 is a fair price depending on the condition of the body, how well it runs, how much maintenance it needs, and how many sins have been hidden. In some areas of the rust belt, a rust free 4X4 is worth a grip of cash. Here where I live, these trucks are only worth parts. I turn down free axle-less carcasses all the time.

The engine is unknown to you and us. That'll be a question to ask the seller or see the sticker on the block when you see the truck. Engine might be original or swapped along the way. It's good to ask if it had any mechanical work done to it recently such as a rebuilt or new parts to start it up.

Never pay the asking amount. Always negotiate to what you feel is adequate. Always ask bout stuff, even dumb questions you need to know about the truck through its hiistory to present date.

Well for 1000 sounds like a decent price but i always say it never hurts to low ball em down a bit unless you really think this is a fair price and rather not bother but its hard to judge prices over the internet without seein the truck or driving etc checking it over

but i think i would pay 1000 for a rust free truck that runs its hard to come by those

and for V8s they had 360 and 390 i cant remember the rest

I paid 3500 for my 77 that ran and was in good shape with only minor rust where the trim was above the wheel wells. 1000 is a good price for are area

I would guess a 360 and $1000 sounds too good to be true. Is it a unique sale? ( ie death in the family)

I would put it in 4 hi, 4 low forward, back word, start it cold. I am not trying to be negative just cautious is my tip.

I would buy it in a heart beat if it was close.
