NOW HEAR THIS! unless i am badly mistaken, your chapter leader is missing in action.

Last known post was in 2005....

Why didn't anyone speak up?

You need one with guts, that will stick by you, and you need it RIGHT NOW.

(Not to mention an air conditioned home)

You never told anyone. No wonder it all fell to pieces...

I SEE IT. I wondered about it and came here to look. You have no leadership, and if someone is not found quick - you could lose this chapter altogether.

NO posts, NO leader, NOTHING GOING ON...

Do you mean to tell me you want to be losers? I don't think so.....

So what must be done?

I guarantee you I will help with it.

FIRST OF ALL you need a chapter leader, the guy who was here abandoned you all.

How could you not realise that?

THIS CHAPTER will not happen unless you make it happen. GITTY UP!!!!

Greywolf 11-15-2007 11:40 PM

I guess the best and most polite way to put it is that the chapter leader position is open.

If you really want to see it get better, take one step forward.

I dare you....

It COULD be the most rewarding thing you've ever done.

And I see you behind that saguaro over there....

Bill W 11-16-2007 02:08 PM

Yea Graywolf, you tell"em As you can see not to much is going on here
I can't even get anyone to meet for a COLD BEER! meet and greet Picnic or nutten

First of all, I apologise to everyone from Arizona for the first post in the thread in the general forum about "Who here is from Arizona?". I about lost my mind when I saw what really happened.

Bill, you were one of a short list of people I thought of as possible CL's for AZ. I don't know what if anything can really change the situation participation wise, but the AZ chapter at least needs to have someone who can accept chapter join requests. And maybe some new blood would do the trick?

There are about twenty Arizonans who have a lot of posts and threads at FTE, one of them I was never aware of before - Blackhat620 or something like that. He's an F350 owner.

I'm hoping the rules are looser now that everything is on a new server, used to be a chapter without a leader got closed and I don't want to see that happen.

Arizona needs somebody. It's needed someone for a long time, and I also PM'd VikingBabe to see if she was at all interested.

I thought it was 03-18-07, or something. But all the other posts are '05. ONE post on FTE, and far from the chapter? I think you need a new guy (or Gal), and they need a certain amount of charisma - someone to rally to!

I know VikingBabe has been through a world of trouble over some clown from the eastern shore who was stalking an ex, and she never backed down, never went totally nuts, and waded through the whole mess in a way that brought tears to some folks eyes.

But it's YOUR CHAPTER....

Where do you want it to go?

Logic told me to hunt down names with high post counts.

Bill W 11-16-2007 02:34 PM

Well The High post count thing put me out of it. lol :-missingt

Hey look on the bright side, It can only get better from here. Right?

Wolf, I would not know what to do, But this chapter is :-lamesign

Tell me,, What are the dutys of chapter leader?

Greywolf 11-16-2007 02:43 PM

From your very own moderator, who posted these in the Florida Chapter:

The Chapter Leader is responsible for seeking out new Chapter members on the FTE forums (we provide the tools for this), overseeing the organization of events, meetings and gatherings. Additionally, we encourage Chapter members to seek out new members at auto shows, fellow Ford owners in the work place and Ford truck owners you may encounter in your day-to-day life. You may even consider telling local dealerships or auto parts stores about your Chapter.

From MY OWN experience with the TN chapter, I know that when Chapter Join Requests are made, they come to a sort of MAILBOX page, and the Chapter Leader approves or denies them.

I used to logon, go to USERCP, then to PM's, then to Chapter memberships and look for new people, and if there were any note the usernames and go to the chapter "WELCOME NEW MEMBERS" thread to welcome them aboard.

All of which took about ten minutes.

"Well The High post count thing put me out of it. lol :-missingt "

Not really. You haven't been here as long as I have, and seem to be very consistent in your support of the AZ Chapter.

Bill W 11-16-2007 02:59 PM

Well Hell, I do some of that stuff here anyways, I have helped in the new user section ( thats how I learned about Reps ),, I hope I did not step on toes, But I sent andrew a PM to see what he wants to do.

Graywolf, You never cease to amaze me with some of the things you come up with!
My Personal Thanks to you

Greywolf 11-16-2007 03:12 PM

yes, but I also acted like a jerk when I saw what was going on in your chapter.

At least in some ways.

I bet ANdrew doesn't even see the PM for several days, and that in itself is a bad thing. It IS time to pass the torch to somebody.

I will also say that sometimes a chapter leader can become so frustrated because the meteoric rise they thought they could accomplish just does not happen, and it tears a person up inside if you let it.

Never be discouraged, the best crops often seem to take forever to establish themselves. Asparagus and Grapes are like that, but I'm falling off-topic there.

Bill W 11-16-2007 03:26 PM

I guess I still have Questions,, How do you pass the Torch Do we all Vote? Or is it the one who's brave enough to do the Job!

Greywolf 11-16-2007 03:45 PM

I'm still hoping to hear from VikingBabe, if she wants to be a possible.

What normally happens is if nobody but one steps up to the plate, they can become it.

But what should happen is an active and real effort to find out who wants to be the chapter leader and what they think they can do as opposed to others who also have ideas about improving the chapter.

In the DELAWARE chapter, they have made a commitee that each take up some part of chapter promo's and events. They elect board members to take some of the load off eachother, so it isn't just one person doing it all.

They have an end of year banquet on the books right now that makes me jealous beyond all reason. I wish TN had been that successful. They are going down to the shore for a surf and turf dinner....

People from AZ definately need to be contacted and talked to, and not just with a single post in the chapter thread, they may have to be PM'd or whatever, because in this case they have migrated to other forums on the boards thru lack of anything in their chapter forums.

You can search members, and filter it by being from Arizona.

I think everyone should be sent a PM, but there are a lot who just don't FTE anymore so it isn't practical. Find the ones who still post, wherever that may be, and talk to them.

You can call up the member list, sort by ARIZONA, then click on POST COUNT to see what the ranking is.

For what it's worth - here is the list I got up just by a few minutes of searching:

Blackhat620
Helifixer
BillW
AZtrainer
Steina
VikingBabe

These are the Arizona people who contribute the most to FTE so far. There are others, and you can find them with a sorted search of members.

helifixer 11-17-2007 10:26 PM

ok greywolf lets get this club rocking,
I tink there is enough ford owners here in AZ to make us a viable state.
