Ford Excursion Vallet/override Button?

Hey,
I have an 2001 Deisel Ford Excursion. For a time now it refuses to try and crank, you just hear a click, and then nothing. I think it has somthing do do with the alarm system and i wan't to deactivate it. Supposidly there is this vallet/override button or switch somewhere but i can't find it to save my life. Anyone here know where it is, or if it is the same button as the fuel pump reset button under the glovebox?

Is it a factory alarm? If it is an aftermarket unit if could be anywhere but usually contained in the driver foot well area. I havn't heard of the factory unit having a valet button.

this may sound stupid, but is it a dead battery? I know the diesels take a lot of juice to crank over.

just a thought :-)

You may try to pull up on the shift lever as it may be out of alignment and not showing that the vehicle is in park thus not letting it crank over.

Factory "alarms" do not have a Valet feature. In fact, they aren't really alarms at all. They are passive. Lock the doors with the windows down and you can reach in an unlock the doors and nothing will happen. It is the key that is the "key" to the system. You need the PATS key to turn the starter over.

Sounds as if you've got a bad battery cable, connection or ground.

I second Monsta, try the battey connection.
