Need Help Fast

had a problem today. pulled up to a buddies house and left the truck running, came back after about 5 minutes with a giant puddle of oil under my truck. turned the truck off, popped the hood and oil everywhere. none on the dipstick. looks like it came from just under the piece of plastic that says powerstroke on it, looks like it came out with some pressure too. truck is an 02 if it matters. any ideas here, truck was idling fine so i hope it isnt screwed. any help would be great. thanx

looks like you high pressure oil lines. you going to have to inspect the lines, and if you cannot find the leak this way , put the oil in it and just have somone crank it up, but dont start , and im sure you will find it. and REMEMBER put the gogles on, so you dont get hurt.

forgot to add, you pump sits in the valey below fuel filter, and you can see 2 lines going to each head, use flashlight and you will find it.

cpold be the oil regulater for the injectors. its a block right under plastic power stroke cover.

neither one of these are major right?

what would cause an oil line to blow? just random? or is is something i could have prevented, i am new to diesels so i want to make sure i do everything right.

well the lines are PITA to remove, you need a tool for it, , regulator , which BTW mechanic... said its a HPOP reservior, no leaks there, IPR which sitts on the back of the pump, might leak, and ICP sensor on the driver head might leak but not a lot, and you would not be running:)...... so i suspect HPOP lines
anyways you have to look, thats the only way to tell.

yeah, it came out with some pressure, sprayed all over the back of the motor front to back and side to side.

The only way you could have prevented it was change out the O-rings before they blew.

well you cannot prevent HPOP lines to blow, or anything like that since its not a rutine maintenance item. but save yourself GRAY hair, get a rag and clean it up a bit, than let us know where its leaking, we tell you what it might run you to fix it, some are Very expensive some cheap. but we not psychic's so you have to go there and look :)
