less expensive, but harder to find!!! it seems easier to find 18-20+ sizes than the 15-16 inch ones nowadays. friggin' gangsta stuff got it ruined for us modest folk...

Ya maybe I should get some 24's with some of them cool spinners.:-yeahrigh
Now that's some bling.
The tire guy did tell me I would have alot more options with 18's.

preppypyro 10-27-2007 08:53 PM

15 inch tires are getting harder to find. So far 16 and 17 inch are still really easy, but your right sherm, even the 16 inch is slowly starting to fade away.

I think in the spring I may check out some of the larger tire shops at the coast. They may have some good used stuff. Then all I will need is some new wheels.

Kal tire and fountain tire usualy both have those 3 for the price of 4 sales too.

i've emailed Blackstock Ford (ontario chapter sponsor) about some pricing on 15/16 inch rims. american racing still has some available, but most of the others are into the 20+ sizes. i was amazed at how few 18's are available now other than oem stuff.

preppypyro 10-29-2007 09:48 PM

Yeah, thats vehicle "evolution" for ya!

96sherm 10-30-2007 06:58 AM

i guess so...what happened to the days of wood spoked wheels with metal wrap?? not that any of us can remember those, but vehicles have sure come a long ways!!

Zip 10-30-2007 01:57 PM

If that was the way it still was I could probably make my own.:-D Hey I could make some for you guys too.:-X22

preppypyro 10-31-2007 07:51 AM

That would be classy actually :D

Mr. Fixit 10-31-2007 11:01 AM

I have been looking into "making" my own wheels - by that I mean taking steel wheels I like (not for a Ford) and having Green's Automotive in Richmond change the offset and widen them. The prices changed my mind:

Change offset - $85 per wheel
Widen rims 2 inches - $150 per wheel

Although I'd prefer to keep the stock OEM look, I'll end up buying new wheels...

Zip 10-31-2007 01:28 PM

With all the wheels out there you would think you could find something similar to the stock wheels.

preppypyro 10-31-2007 06:45 PM

That is getting up there in price. If you think about it though Mr fixit, it must take alot of work to widen the rim and change the offset.

Mr. Fixit 10-31-2007 07:24 PM

Yes, agreed! I should be able to find a steel wheel close to what I want for under $75. A bonus is that the new wheel comes painted.

preppypyro 10-31-2007 10:14 PM

Paint is cheap if you have a place to do it yourself though :D
