Holley list 9834/ fuel capacity
I have a carb I got from a guy who had no ide what it came off of. It's a 9834 number on it. I got a lot of info from Holley's website, but no application data.
Here's what I have: List 9834 Style : 4160 Renew Kit: 37-720 Trick Kit: 37-933 Needle and Seat: 6-506 Primary Jet: 122-642 Secondary Plate: 134-39 Power Valve: 125-65 Discharge Nozzle: .031 Secondary Spring: Black It has a Ford kickdown and an electric choke. I figure its a non-OEM replacement, but the 642 jet leads me to believe its keyed to an emissions application. It has the idle screws on the sides of the primary block, so it's a pre 80's application I think. If I remember right, 80's up had four corner idle. Not sure though. I found carbs listed that use the same kit but have a 68 jet under the numbers 6619, 9834-3, and 89834. Anyone know what this came off of? My 390 is about to suck the Quadrajet I've had on it down the intake. The Q-jet runs great, and gets reasonable economy, but this engine wil pull every bit of the fuel out of the bowl in 5 seconds. It wants more fuel capacity. I'm running an Airtek 362 machanical pump (428 CJ) I'm thinking of kitting the Holley and jetting it at 68 to start and putting in an 8.5 power valve. My idle vacuam is 15. |

Bill, here's a number for Holley tech support where you can talk to an actual person. 502-781-9741. They helped me ID a 2 bbl I found as 350 CFM from a V8 truck with a governor setup on it. U-Haul? LOL!
That same carb has had some major modifications and will be feeding my Pinto tonight at the local dirt track. It went from laying in a field to a, "most of the time", top 5. Another Bill. |
