Price of methanol

Need a little help. I live in Northern VA and haven't found methanol for less than about $7-$8 / gal. If I use one gallon per 5 gallons of wvo, than lose about a 3rd of that to glycerine and other waste, I still spend about $2 /gallon before electricity, time, and other expenses.
Does anyone know a good (cheaper) supplier in NoVa or surrounding areas or online?
Also, if I used Ethanol instead of Methanol, what are the pros and cons?

I just finished my first processor. It is an appleseed and should be able to produce about one tank of bio per batch. If this goes well, I will work on Methanol recovery next.

Thanks,
Bill

Update:
Just found a supplier in Hagerstown Md. that quoted $225/55gal drum. At just over $4 / gallon my math works out well.

If you recover methanol you will drive the price even lower.
Ethanol is a little harder to use because it must be very dry and you will have to pay taxes on it, just incase you decide to quench your thirst.

Thanks Phyeaux. They get enough taxes from my beer habit. That will be the next brewing project at my house!!
