It was just a side panel on the back body right? If so it is not that big of a deal to replace...But just the fact that it happen is bad enough and a pain to deal with

There are venders here on FTE that have the parts you need.

Your getting a quote to replace the entire quarter panel correct...? Because we all know it was "restored" and it needs to be back in prestene condition... :D

I was dead tired after track practice once when I was 16 or 17 and accidently backed into a chrisler (I think) and put a tear in the front fender. Ended up being over $700 to repair it. and the guy supposedly "knew" the shop owner and got a deal on it. Insurance covered it but goes to show body work is not cheap.

This spring I'm going to pull the bed and rebuild it. the repair According to the Ins. co.
would cost more then the truck is worth so I'll have to put the rest of the money in from my own pocket.

That sucks. You should be able to tell them you want it fixed and if they have to go after the new driver's wallet so be it.

Makes me want to put "antique" insurance on the 72 when its back on the road. but that opens another whole new can of worms.
