becoming a diesel mechanic

I have a paper from the community college that tells me about diesel mechanics. It says I have to have 55 credit hours and academic courses. I know the classes are about mechanics. Would I have to take classes such as english and math also. Thanks for the help. By the way this is a 2 year program

Most likely if you go to a community college or 4 year university you will have to take at least 1 year of english and math, and maybe more. Around where I live the only schools you don't have to take those courses is if you go to tech or trade schools that only teach mechanics or welding, or something like that. It sucks don't it. I'm looking at going to a tech school just because I hate math and totally despise english. But hey its only two years. Good luck.

Ok, heres your info on this. DEPENDING on what school you go to depends on how many credits you have to achieve for a diploma or a degree. 55 credits sounds lil short of a 2year Degree so im guessin it is a diploma course. I go to Dakota County Tech here in minnesota and its 64 credits just for a 2year Diploma here. I am in heavy duty truck technology or "diesel mechanics" also.
