B5,b20,b99???
 

I have a fuel supplier locally-(not a regular gas station, or truck stop) that has BioDiesel.
I first heard they had all grades from B5,B20, and B99 and when I went in to get a tank (Iwas going to start with B5 for a couple of tanks, then go to the B20, then the B99)I was told they only had provisions to put B20 into my tank-(I understand there is a modification that I can do so that a BIG RIG size nozzle will fit into my filler neck)So my question is does anyone know IF the B99 is going to cost more than the B20 that I paid $3.08 a gallon for yesterday?? I have heard that there is enough BIODIESEL already manufactured to fuel all the diesel powered vehicles that want it and then some.....I also understand that we are now EXPORTING OUR BIODIESEL!!!!!! WHY THE HECK ARE WE SENDING OUR FARM GROWN FUEL OVERSEAS??????
I think we should be extended the BIODIESEL for the same price as DINO Diesel-I hope our farmersaren't getting greedy, I like to support them but not if they are going to send it overseas!!!!!!!!!

I'm all for anything that helps American farmers....and if exporting bio does that then I think it's friggin great idea.

I doubt if B99 will be any cheaper than B20. Lord knows it should be, but it's unlikely that it will.

What truck do you have? The big nozzle fits in my filler without any modifications.

I've got a LATE '99 F350 CC Dually 2Wheel drive, I understand that I can cut out the restrictor so I can use the big rig nozzle, I have heard that some trucks have this restrictor and some don't.

You can actually make the modification with no cutting. Just take the filler neck off your truck (a clamp, a couple of small screws) and take a long drift pin (or piece of rebar) and put it down the filler neck until it touches the restrictor. Then take your hammer, smack the drift pin or rebar, and knock it out.

don,t see many farmers burning wvo in there new king ranches. if they made enough biodiesel to supply everything in the us nobody could afford post toasties.

I burn a soy formula here. Your Post Toasties are okay, but McDonald's "100% Beef Patties" might go up. :-X07

B5 user here for 6 years. Price I get from my distributer is the same for B5 to B20.

What is the difference? I see b20 on this forum but see b99 at the few stations around here that has it.

B99 is pure bio. The B20 is 20% bio and 80% diesel fuel. The B99 will gell at a much higher temp than the B20 for instance.

will a 50/50 mix mess up my 03 or do i have to worry about it gelling on me.

If your past the 100K (for warranty issues) then B20 or less will be fine. The colder the weather the less bio I would use. I have not had a problem with the B20 until it got down to zero degrees then it didn't have the HP. Moved to the B5 and didn't notice any HP difference (between the dino and b5) and I just know I am getting better lubrication and helping the price of the soybeans I grow.
