90 F250 Wire Color codes for the stereo

Pulled my non working radio out to replace with a new one and the colors on the wires aren't what they should be? One bracket is broken (thus the non working part of it all), I figured I would just cut and connect the wires, ive done it plenty of times, right? Ive figured out the red is ground. confused allready

One bracket has these:
Yellow w/Blue stripe
Light Blue w/ Red
Green w/ Yellow
Orange w/ Black
Red (Ground)

The other bracket has these:
Orange w/Green
Black w/white
White w/ Green
Black w/white

Any help would be appreciated. I search the internet and repetedly find nothing.

Thanks

Try www.installdr.com, they have lots of good info about wire colors in a variety of different vehicles. Good luck and Welcome to FTE.

If you have figured out ground then one should be + hot wire all the time there should be another that is only hot when key is on and the others should be speakers. the only thing with those i can think of is trial and error but that is just what i would do good luck

Yellow w/Blue stripe - This should be your battery (12v+) wire
Light Blue w/ Red - Check this one with a test light should be hot only when the key is in the run or acc position.
Green w/ Yellow - this is probably the amp turn on wire, it may or may not be used. Look up where the center speaker for an AM radio would be. If there's a silver box with wires coming and going you have a premium sound system.
Orange w/ Black - this is the illumination wire it will act like a ground until the headlights are turned on.
Red (Ground) - as you've already figgered out this one is a bad joke. Make sure it's a ground, I mean turn all the accessories on with the engine running and double check it. A lot of times these radios ground through the chassis.
