6 mpg unloaded:mad:. yes she is very sick:-X16

what kind of mpg are you seeing in your truck?

96sherm 03-16-2008 09:39 PM

6...wow...that hurts. right now, winter driving i see 14mpg...lots of idling, all city. summertime that'll be 16-18 city, 23-25 highway. highest i've seen was 26.3 on the highway... :) its a 2wd, 4.6L. don't let anyone tell you this is a lousy motor. its got heart and lots of it!!!

96sherm 03-16-2008 09:40 PM

BTW, the ford dealer here has a '99 dually v10 for 15995... :) i'll find you a link...

30L/100km never happend to her.usually 23 in the city,14-15L/100km highway.
It's a big drop ,must be winter mixed gas or something.I agree with some idling but
that's scary isn't????
Will check with proscan for some codes.
Skoda ,so you'll getting new engine???
Sherm ,what size sail do you have?that's a great milage.:-X14

96sherm 03-17-2008 06:55 AM

14-15l/100...thats 18mpg??? for a v10???? wow.

Sherm,18mpg?wait a minute.
I'am counting in US gallons b/c US trucks are tested with US gallons,
1 US gal = approx. 3.785 litres.
then 15 litres = approx. 3.96 US gal
then 100km = approx. 62 miles
then 62 miles / 3.96 US gal = approx.15.65 mpg
yes that's correct now.some conditions apply:
summer,highway,65-70 mph,2000-2200 rpm's,"drive like a white man ".LOL :-X14

96sherm 03-17-2008 01:40 PM

sorry...my mistake. i was talking canadian gallons. bigger, i love it!!

Yea its what I'am shooting for, but if any signs point to just the cylinder head being nothing more then a paper weight i'll go with a head swap:) the bigest problem I have with this root is having to take ti apart to find out if its the cause of my problems. . . enough about this motor... I did some shopping yesterday:-D and no it wasn't clothes.
