If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our custom curved Duraspark Distributor built with our new Full Length Oil Impregnated Bronze Bushing. The full length bushing improves timing stability and spark scatter. If stock appearance is not an issue, take a look at our one piece D.U.I. Distributor. Whether you choose the Duraspark or the D.U.I., we curve each on a distributor machine based on your engine combination. Please see them at:

Also, there is now an excellent installation article on the D.U.I. Distributor on the Ford-Trucks.com site at:

i have checked out the site a few dozen times and like what i see.
got the order form saved, many thanks!

3broncocrazy 09-17-2007 07:34 PM

decided what you gonna do yet?

old87 09-20-2007 12:43 AM

gonna do it- but i have an overheatin prob to fix first.
on the honeydo end- if i can get my new driveway i will hold out for that first.
more $ but it has become a major safety factor , if you been here ya know....

While on projects- still lookin for a decent 460- that is somethin i can put a lil bit o' $ in on from time to time.
the smaller stuff seems to get done here quicker than the big jobs.

long as somethin gets done...

Hard to beat the MSD system but if funds are close the old Dura Spark with MSD 6A works great also

omit duraspark box

for $65 i changed the points out in my bronco to electronic with built in rev limiter! bought it at summit (which is a short drive for me) and highly recommend it! best part is it uses stock parts so any and every junkyard has oodles of spares!

thanks!
it's on the list, and it will get done. It will have to wait on my latest headache though..
The actual ignition switch has gone crazy on me - like the rollers are so wore out it wont lock into the "on" position.
Freaked me out goin down to take the ol lady to work- she just shut down.
After startin and stoppin three times i figured out what it was.
No just sittin at idle it will vibrate to off.

just another brick in the wall.....

Seems like when it rains it pours. I need to replace the switch on my 82 if I ever get the tranny working right.

i still like the mallory unilite system i had in my old motor. will use it from now on if i have a choice for a singe self contained unit. it doesnt require a seporate ignition box. all you need is the dist and a coil, 3 wire hook up

Smaug 10-23-2007 11:31 PM

My Mustang has a Mallory Unilite w/ Ford Motorsport coil and a MSD 6A control box. I know it's a good system but I'm chasing a gremlin in it right now. It's cut off several times going down the road.

could be msd I had a new one do that

Box was in the car when I bought it. I think I've got it fixed, hasn't done since last Thursday anyway. Whoever put the control box in grounded it to the battery. I moved the ground to the inner fender.
