Just a crazy idea
Has anyone ever seen a 3.8 supercharged SuperCoupe engine in a 1963 Econoline panel van, I just bought a whole wrecked 1993 Supercoupe for parts and got to looking at the engine and AOD tranny.....the car is complete and I wont have to track down any parts, I have the completer EFI Harness and I have the engine cross member and doghouse out of a 1967 econoline and the 9 inch rear also with 3.50 gears....I was going to do a 300 EFI conversion but i am thinking about a 3.8 TBird SC conversion, and please anyone that has put a AOD in a econoline, the shifter is the only problem that I cant solve in my mind, I am going to build a custom tranny crossmember

I have already got engine and tranny out, i am taking my time and removing the harness carfully as not to breat or strip any wires.....The Van is going to get 4 wheel disk and a Mystery Machine paint job....only thing is I am going to have to make up some custom duct work for a intercooler mounted uo front....no biggy....muffler shop bends 3 inch pipe every day of the week.....LOL
How much wider is a 1967 doghouse than a 1963? |
When I put the Cleveland in my 66 I made a console for it and opened up the floor to get more air to the radiator.
