No Pi**ing Contests!

Be nice Tom and Rex...Not the place to share feelings...PMs are great.

lostmybeer 08-27-2007 12:11 AM

Not trying to P on anyone. Just trying to chatter box since I haven't really been around much. I get jumped, something isn't right. I'm open, nothing to hide or PM about. My opinion has been typed.

Tranny temps are way down, with the new cooler. New power steering pump went in and I can turn without having to hang on the steering wheel and no more exhaust back pressure sensor trouble light. **Found out the original tranny cooler was plugged, which caused little flow making my temps fly high.**

Towed my boat to the lake. Did some skiing and tubing, more skiing, and more skiing and now, I feel really good. Just sore muscles. Tranny temps didn't break 155F with boat in tow. Wow what a difference.

jackofalltrades 08-27-2007 11:21 AM

I'm sure glad I don't have an automatic behind my Diesel. I don't have to worry about tranny temps near as much. As a matter of fact, I don't have a tranny temp guage. But, I monitor engine temp, Boost, Pre and Post turbo EGT. Mid way through every long road trip, I look at the bugs that have gotten past the grill, (the windshield mess is usually a good indicator that it's time to look at the grill area), to be sure there's sufficient air flow for the radiator. I wish I could find a good screen for our Super Duty grills to keep all that road crap out.

Window screen works great. Doesn't rust, catches the bugs and still lets air through. Very easy to install.

Are you talking about the regular screen that seem to have nylon type fiber?

lostmybeer 08-28-2007 12:22 AM

If nylon is what the screen is made from. I so think there is a different type of window screen.

jackofalltrades 08-28-2007 02:42 PM

Yeah, something like that... I dunno, house window screen?

A screen that I can clip or snap on in front of the grill to keep the bugs out on those long road trips. Maybe something that's double duty as a bug screen in the summer, and a grill cover in the winter. Like what the truckers have. Something durable enough for the wand at the car wash.

I've seen these things for 90's model Ford trucks, but nuttin for the 99-Newer SuperDuty's.

I've got a sewing machine down in the basement. Maybe I just need to make my own.
