Modding seems to be contagious.

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I have not done any modding to my vehicles. Just keep them serviced by me, tuned up by me and fix whatever I can. All the reading about modding up the truck is sounding interesting. To begin with, how do I know if I have a roller cam 351 or not? It is a 1995 f-150 351W.

You mod one part but the performance of that mod is hurting by some other component so you upgrade that one too and then the next and the next bottleneck!!!
Best to always make a concerted effort for real (felt gains) Intake/exhaust upgrade at the same time! or bore out and port flow heads at the same time! Best to save up the money and do it all at the same time is what I am saying for the most felt increases!!

You have a roller block for certain, but if you really want to know for sure the cam is a roller, remove one valve cover, one rocker arm, and then pull the pushrod out (wiggle it as you pull, just in case the lifter, if not a roller, wants to come with it) The roller pushrods are about 7.5" long. The flat tappet rods are a bit over 8". A couple of mods that will work without affecting other stuff are removing the silencer from the airfilter box, install a K&N type filter element, swapping the rockers for 1.7 full rollers (change the pushrods at the same time) Adding shorty headers, removing the cats and adding dual exhaust.
