Gen1 torque converter stallspeed?

Does anyone know off the top of there head what a 95 lightning torque converter stall speed would be?

Blurry94 08-16-2007 08:56 AM

About 1800.

so if i put a cam in my L that has a RPM range of 1800-5600 would that be to high a RPM for that converter?

That is a good power band range.... But that is not the only thing you have to worry about. You really need to make sure it is Speed density friendly, or really know your stuff with a tweecer.

the cam is a comp cam. XE270HR, it has a LSA of 114 and is said to be compatable with O.B.D 1 systems. I switched over to mass air so that should help out, but i dont want to be a dog off the line. So with this cam would the stock converter be to low a stall speed?

That should not be too bad. It will be a little slow off of the line. A stall would help.
