rods/pistons??
can i put stock 2.3 pistons on 5.7" chevy rods?

No. The pistons will stick out the top of the cylinders. You have to compensate for the extra rod length by moving the pin height in the pistons. Unless you are building an extremely high performance engine, rod length's don't make that much difference, and may not make a difference then. There are a couple of schools of thought on the subject, both pro and con, but no general consensus that I know of. jd

Contact Racer Walsh (racerwalsh.zoovy.com). They know as much about 2.3L building as anyone. The Chevy rods needed are the small journal V8 (265/283) or the 250 I6 rods and, no, stock pistons won't work. Longer rods reduce side loading on the cylinder walls, transfer more thrust to the crankshaft and increase piston dwell time at TDC. Personally, I'd go with Racer's stroker crank for 2.5L unless you have the turbocharged SVO motor.
