Where does this vacuum hose goes to ? anyone know?
 


its from my other post about missfiring .. but it will get more atencion this way .. for it... so here is the pic
the orange Hose where does it goes.. what does it do ? where does it come from ?

yeah its coming from all of the other hoses.. on the other side of the intake..

Cap it off till you find out.....might not even need it....but sure don't need it open!!

I cant see a picture of it at all. If it is coming off the intake then it is going either to the brake booster, vacuum resivior, vacuum resevior/cruise, HVAC, Fuel pressure regulator, or the c6 if so equipped. Then the passenger vacuum reserve supplies the thermactor switches and the egr switch. Depending on the switch they would control the thermactor bypass or the cat/head flow of the A.I.R. system, this has to be determined by the signal wire color to figure out which vacuum switch is being operated. I could not see your picture of the hose. Also the truck has listed in the engine bay the proper vacuum hose routing by color of the hose if it has not been destroyed by the years.

From the pic that " BOBCF " posted.. i can see a vacuum lines that is going to a thing called "AIR D" .. where is that? what is it ?

Pluged up the Hose.. and now it idles Smooth smooth :)

Air D is the Thermactor air diverter (TAD) valve that controls whether the smog pump sends air to the back of the cylinder heads or if it sends it down to the exhaust between the cat. converters...
