Help with driveshaft....
Well I have a bad driveshaft...or I was told. I took it to Sadler Powertrain. They said it was junk; splines bad h-yoke, cv head: which i was pretty sure was bad before i took it there, and the u-joints: which surprised me becuase i just had put them in the day before. Now i am in need of some info of a place to take it to, to be rebuilt or a place to get a new shaft. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks Steinbronn Also, just bought a highboy and was wondering if the shaft is the same as the one i am needing. My truck is a '77 F150 shortbed 4x4 (needs new rear driveshaft), highboy is a 1975 longbed? Don't know just wondering |
The highboy also has a divorced case, so it will be different. Sadler should be able to get the parts, if they can be had new.

The rear half is called a coupling shaft. When searching for a new driveshaft, in addition to listing the wheelbase and whether the truck is either 2 or 4WD, the type of transmission must be listed. |
thanks for the help guys....i appreciate it. the only reason i brought up the highboy idea is that i was under it the other day and front driveshaft looked similar to the one i have in my 77.
