Good places to go Camping in Michigan?

New chapter in my life. I sold my Camaro, bought a F-250 and a tow behind trailer. The trailer needs some work, so I won't be doing too much in it this year, but I want to get ready for next year.

Where are some good places to go and visit/camp in Michigan?

Currently the trailer is in Gladwin, Mi. I need somethings fixed on it if any one does that stuff around that area. It's a 1978 Nomad, 17 foot. I need to have the water heater fixed (it leaks) and a T-Fitting fixed under the sink (also leaks). Plus the firdge won't stay running on Gas, just electric.

Thanks all.

There are a lot of places to go. It just depends on your interests. If you want to goto the dunes then go to silver lake area. What are you specifically looking for?

Here are some web sites for you.

If you don't need electricity and running water, I like to camp in the Vanderbilt area.

I personally like the State Parks throughtout the state. They are all over the place.

Where is Greenville anyway?

Greenville is NE of GR.

I like the state parks as well, some are nicer than others, but for the most part they're good.

Just about anyplace in the UP is good. What are you looking for? Anything in particular? Ludington SP is great, Wilderness, Straits, Brimley, Grayling are a few that I've been to at least once. Haven't done a lot on the east side, but there is one by Saginaw that I've heard is great too. Holland and Grand Haven are usually full, so you need to make reservations very, very early. I don't really like either, because they're basically a parking lot on the beach, but to each his own. If you really want to go far, the state park in Copper Harbor is nice too.

There are some really nice campgrounds up the east coast, all the way to the tip of the thumb.
