My truck NEEDS to ride better.
I'm never going to tow more than 4k with 500LBS in the bed.
JCW lists 3486LBS for the front and 2575LBS for the rear. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Produ...Count-1/s-10101 Are these the same as stock? TIA, Vince |
Just curious, what kind of seats do you have?
|
40/20/40 in very good condition.

Okay. My truck rode horrible and then I took away my vinyl bench seat and repleaced it with the 40/20 like you have and the ride was significantly improved.
I also have a front leaf bracket cracked and my rear bump stops are close to the leaves. Projects, projects!! |
best way to make them ride good is to leave about 400 lbs in the bed all the time.
|
We will see. I'm putting a 150LBs fiberglass tonneau and very close to 350LBs of racing stuff in it this week. I hope it makes a big difference.. It feels like a old school bus now.

Brand new Bilstiens a week after I bought the truck!

4 link it and air bag it.

Reduce the tire pressure. You don't need the rated pressures unless you are carrying the rated loads. And the rated pressure makes it ride HARD. E Load rated tires are supposed to be at 80 PSI, and I usually run no more than about 45 PSI, and air it up only when needed. Otherwise it's too dang hard!

Check the clearance on your bump stops from the overload spring.
Change the bushings on your springs. May not need to replace them. |

Ahh! Air pressure!
I'll give that a try. Thanks for the other stuff too! Vince |

Better Ride
One of the best ways to get a better ride, better control (all conditions), better fuel mileage and much better tire life is to have your tires 'sipped'.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I did this to my Toyo's after about the first 20K and boy what a difference it made......smooth, quite and hold to ice and snow like I was glued there. |
