Fishing??

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get to a public access area of yellow river near covington. I-20, 278, or 81 would be a good starting point. A park or whatever. I have never fished the yellow river and figured I may give it a try soon. I gotta get back into fishing it has been too long. Also I figured this would be a good thread to share fishing stories.

I have been looking for public access to the yellow river also. Man, remember as kids, we just fished where ever we wanted and no one really cared. Well, at least that's how I remember it!

We used to have family with boat house on Altamaha. 1/2 way between Jesup and Brunswick. Great times

Never fished the Altamaha. I drove around porterdale awhile ago looking for a public access. I did not have any luck. It was not a wasted trip though because I had to deliver a tow dolly that way anyway.

We put in at jesup and go up and down. we also put in at baxley sometimes... but if you decide to plan a campin trip sometime and wanna rough it, campin some of the sandbars on the altamaha is fun as hell... and good catfishin at night too. lol
