78 f150 wiring diagram

Hey guys, been a while since my last post. I appreciate all the help you all give. I've been dealing with a crumbling instrument cluster housing, and a bad printed circuit. Since the cost is comparible I've decided to go aftermarket with all of my gauges. The only problem is that every wiring diagram I've found for this truck show 13 pins on the connector to the instrument cluster. My truck has 14 pins. Some of the pins have two wires going into the connector as well. So far I've been able to determine the water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and a few others by simply looking at diagrams for wire color and testing for continuity between connector and sender. The only problem is that I can't figure out what some of these wires are for, and as I said the diagrams don't have the same connector I do. If anybody knows where I can find a different diagram that might help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

What are the colors of the two wires you are trying to figure out?

14 Pins are warning lights

18 Pins are Gauges.

Ford Wiring is colour coded for certain systems and is used for decades with new additions.

I think I can help.

Here is the pin layout w/ color and description of the wires I know (or at least think I know)

1. black 8. red/white (coolant temperature)
2. white/red 9. white/blue (rt. ft. dir. light)
3. green/red (goes to ignition module) 10. green/black (high beams)
black (resistance) 11. purple/white (low brake light switch)
4. black/green 12. white/red (oil pressure)
5. green/white (left front dir. light) 13. red/yellow (to ignition module)
6. black/green 14. orange (fuel gauge)
black
7. pink

An entire instrument cluster can be had for $20 at most junkyards or from eBay. Instrument clusters can be used clear up into the 80's from Vans. Much much cheaper and a whole lot less time & trouble than trying to go custom.

The wires on the flex circuit are incredibly easy to trace to identify the pinout. Look to your plug for the colors.
