I did a search but never came up with an answer...so...can I use a disc/drum master cylinder with drum/drum brakes?My original MC is leaking...instead of buying another one I thought I would buy a bracket and update to a dual cylinder MC...and what is the absolute best MC to use with a non-power drum/drum set(using the original pedal,etc.)Thanks!

I`d like to know too, mine is leaking and now is a good time to switch over.

Off the top of my head, early Mustang used drum/drum with a dual res. Check with Sacramento Vintage Ford - they sell the kit.

Sacramento Vintage Ford sell a kit to mount the mc in the stock location?

Yes, they show a variety of setups -

With power booster for drum/drum; disk/drum; disk/disk

They also have brackets for a variety of applications. Honestly, I can't tell from the descriptions if they have something for non-power, drum/drum, dual res systems.

I can't see why a dual res for disk/drum wouldn't work. Disks require more pressure and volume to stop.

I just looked at the articles section and they showed a mod to upgrade the 69-74 Ford E-series vans drum/drum to disc. The project was on a -72 ford E300. I would go to my auto parts dealer, ask to look at a 69-74 Ford E- series van m/c, look at spec's.. Go to a weekend auto rally and talk to owners, etc. Have a great day, chuck

I'm trying to keep the drum/drum setup if possible...I think the late 60s Mustang MC will work,but I'm not sure...guess I better call SVF...

Drum-drum dual masters: Ford passenger cars 1967/

Most of the dual Ford master cylinders are about the same length, the boosters are not.

F100's from 1968 had dual master cylinder drum-drum brakes into the early 1980's. Many of the F250/350's from 1968 had drum-drum dual masters till 1973. Discs were first offered as an option in 1968 on F250/350's, but prolly only 25% came with discs, most were drum.

Coley, I don't have any knowledge about brackets for m/c. The info was from FTE threads and articles at the top of the page. Most after marker auto parts people will help if you take your bracket. Some have counter help knowledgable like numberdummy. I see he has some good info also. It seems like the 60's was a period of change in the auto industry to start the use of disc brakes. PN# 14078 Master Cyl Mount - use 67-72 Mustang dual reservoir master cyl with 1" bore.
PN# 14064 Master Cyl Adaptor - angles down for additional clearence - same as above.
PN# 12001 Master Cyl - Mustang - 67-72 dual chamber

So#14078 will enable me to use the Mustang MC on my 54 F-100?
