How do you bleed air out of the cooling system?

I am about to flush my coolant on my 2.9 Ranger and I want to make sure there isn't any air in there. Is there anything special I have to do? I remember reading on here sometime back and some guy said to just fill the radiator and overflow up all the way and it after a couple of running cycles it should purge any air...is this true? Is there a special bleeder port on the radiator or anything? Many thanks...

If you can, park the vehicle on a incline. The idea is get the radiator as high as possible to let the air escape. You can also fill the radiator and run it a few times as mentioned. Just don't fill it and not check it after the first couple of runs.
