Demonstrating the proper use of a PSD.
A good friend that I'm working with in Vegas wanted his restored '70 C10 down here from eastern Oregon but it's insured as a classic so he didn't want to put the extra miles on it. Since I needed a trip home anyway I volunteered my services. Needed to test out all my new mods so what could be a better way than to tow a chevy. Granted it's a very nice chevy but as you can see it knows it's place.
1200 miles later I'm happy with my truck. Well mostly. See my ebpv post about that. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...id=148549&.jpg |
P.S. Anybody that comments on my cab-to-bed alignment will be required to help me fix it.

Nice looking truck :-X22
I wish I had a 4 door soooo bad. I would say the alignment issue could be a broken body mount or bushing. I really dont like pulling bumper pull trailers because of all the bouncing and swaying they usually cause. Gooseneck or 5th wheel is the only way to go. |
A good hitch will make the diff with a good trailer.
Gooseneck is great! They just distribute the weight diff then a hitch mount. Remember, bumper pull and hitch pull are diff also! |
True put I havent seen a 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a ball directly on the bumber unless its an aftermarket bumper. Still with a hitch pull you get a lot more movement than gooseneck. You sometimes forget your pulling a trailer with a gooseneck untill you take that sharp turn and hop a curb.
|
Oh come on, i've never had that issue hauling 150 bails of hay with a rear reciever hitch. on a 3/4 ton mind you also.
If your trailer sucks, thats when you get all the sway. =) |
I agree with Foreman, nothing pulls like a gooseneck. Talyn jealousy of the gooseneck trailer handling and hauling stature is overwhelming and mildly hysterical. Im with you Foreman!

I've heard that replacing the cab mount bushings is a serious PITA so I'm currently pretending I don't have a problem. I know, the first step is admitting you have a problem. I'm just not ready yet. |
Clean looking truck! the chevy's nice too. i had to replace the rear cab mounts. Indeed it is a major PITA. The bed still doesnt line up 100% but it looks a lot better.

I love all older trucks, chebby, dotch and ford.

Purty
Just cause its purty dosent mean anything. I like the look of the chevs, but man do what our trucks can do and still look as classy and thats a truck. Any truck can be set up in a car show sitting in its spot just looking pretty, but see one of those trucks going down the road with a load and that sound of a disesl at work. Thats what life is all about!!!

I recently replaced the drivers side rear cab mount in my 95 crew cab. It wasn't that bad. I was able to access the top bolt by sliding the rear seat forward. The lower bolt looked hard to find but all I had to do was take off the front tank strap and loosen the back one. The tank pushed right out of the way. I then jacked up the cab and it slid right in. Some people need to loosen the drivers side rear cab mount but access is easier on that side. The whole process took about 1.5 hours.
