Prerunner f250?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'll give it a shot.
I have a buddy who going to be racing SCORE events. I have a 2wd F250 PSD. I thought it might make a great chase truck with the right suspension mods. Any ideas/opinions?

2WD? Hmmmm... i don't know the courses that SCORE uses, or that you'll be running, but that would be my concern. Diesel Power did an article about a year ago on an F250 6.0 PSD that ran the Baja1000 (I believe) and this month's issue had one about 3 Dodge diesels running the Baja1000. So long as you won't need 4WD you're good to go, but if you have to go pull out/rescue/repair your buddy then you have to consider the terrain he/she is covering as well. I'd definitely invest in an AIS for your truck if you do do this.

Checkout Fabtech, they started out specializing in 2wd suspensions. ifYou can pick up an issue of Dusty Times, it will give you a lot of manufacturers that build products just for the offroad racers. As far as 2wd chase truck goes, invest in a locking diff, soft, long travel suspension and medium wide tires to let you float the sand and dust pits and it will work just fine. have fun Barney

Check out KORE or Donahue Racing suspension systems. The truck that Papa is referring to had a Donahue Racing suspension system it was however a 4x4.

Thanks guys for the info. My truck will be used to run form pit to pit carring parts. I wont be traveling the rough course but lots of dirt roads and well in the dark in Baja......... its good to be prepared for the unforseen ditch. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Thanks
