anybody ever had any experience with an 8-71 on a 400m motor? just wondering, kinda toying with that idea and trying to get some feedback from folks that may have had experience with this setup, thanks for the help

No experience with an 8-71 on a 400 but a friend of mine put a 6-71 on his. Too bad he had a 4 speed and a truck that was hard to keep on the road (79 1/2 ton lifted 12" with 44" STS tires). It pulled good, but every time it really started to pull, he had to shift....or let off the gas. Blew a head gasket though not too long afterwards. I think he was only running 8 lb. of boost max. But then again, he had it for looks. With two BG 750 carbs and the STOCK exhaust manifolds, it was more of a looker than an actual daily-driven truck.
It went like hell when it ran. |

This is something I'm going to try very very soon as I have lucked into a deal on a Dyers Blower for $1200. E85 will be a must for me as I am running Autotec pistons (1000773) with an engineering change to 1.71 for zero deck and with heads milled and cc'd to 73-74 it'll be close to 12:1 static.
