2000 F-150 Gas Mileage

Anyone have any ideal or own a 2000 F-150 to tell me the gas mileage on a 5.4L V8 Four Wheel drive extended cab

i have that same truck and the best ive ever had was 15 mpg and that was with easy driving, nothin over like 2200 rpm

I have exactly the same truck. Averaged 18 on highway at 60-70 over a 300 mile trip. Getting 14-15 in this rural setting. Only mod I have done, or will do, is changed the muffler to a Magnaflow. Love the sound and will have to wait until next trip to check mileage and see if there is any change. Jim

I had a 99 and now have an 02. 13-15 is all I get. Been slightly over 15 a few times, but not by much.

However, although it struggles, I still get about 12 pulling my 4500 lb boat, even up the mountains (of course there's lots of downhill stretches too).

12-15 is the norm. Also depends on tire size and gearing.

I have a 2000 supercab 5.4 2wd and I get 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on highway towing I get between 12 and 14. Not bad for a full size truck.

18 mpg all highway, 15-17 mixed city highway, 12 towing a bassboat. I do have the 3:55 gears

18mpg highway at 65mph, 10-12mpg around town, 7mpg towing my 20ft gooseneck horse trailer.

Thank you for all for the tips. My 97 2wd extened cab I think got worse than the 2000 I just got..Do you think this is possible? I also heard some 4wd get better gas mileage because they are geared alittle different than 2wd??

I get 14 in town and 17 on the highway unloaded. Boat towing I get 12. I have 2 mods for the motor, a cold air intake and catback exhaust single pipe rear exit. 2001 F150 Scab 4X4, 17 inch wheels, 3:55 gears, 5.4L motor, auto tranny.

Well that maybe true about the 4x4 thing most likely not cause 2wd theres not so much drag cause 4x4 they beef up the suspension plus the added weight of the 4wd system it could be true that the 2000 gets better but a tune up will maybe get you better mileage maybe the 97 was in need of that driving habits also affect mileage
