new federal budget

What does everyone think of the new budget? I cannot belive that they are charging up to $4 000 extra on the purchase of "gas-guzzling" vehicles.

I`m not into watching that as close as I should.
As for the guzzler tax, I`m not sure about it, though I do like it being applied to Hummers..... :-missingt

I think Ford only has 2 that meet that.....Ford Pickups don't qualify.

Just the Expedition & Lincoln.

One way to get around this guzzler tax is to buy used like I did, that`s too bad as it`s only a tax grab that only sounds like it will help the environment. :-lamesign

Just a clarification. The plan allows customers who are eligible for a rebate apply and get it , maybe from Ottawa. The flip side, such as the Expedition is a levy. That is to say only new vehicles delivered to dealers after March 17 have a levy charged against them to the manufacturer. Ford has not decided if it will just suck it up or increase the price to the dealer. I'm sure they will just slow the shipment to a crawl to Canada (not that they huge now) and get the E85 5.4 from the F150 in the Expy. The good news is that these measures and the funding for E85 pumps (at last look 1 station in Ottawa) will get cracking and that will be good for Ford sales.
