I just installed my new 2" rear block, and 2" front level ride kit,on my stock 2001 5.4 F150 lariet...the pro-performance kit, caution dont atempt unless you have a big C gear type puller you can wrap around the torsion cross member
the new keys in the lift kits are cut to about a 1/2" to 3/4"offset, and its a booger to get the adjustment block back in, But man it makes a differance..Now i gotta get some tires and rims..stock 265/70/R17 thinking of going with a 16"x10"rim 33x12.50x16 does anyone know if this will work, or will I need to stick to the 305/70/16, I checked out the tire calculator on 1010tires.com..there close.
without haveing to trim the fender wells, looks like lots of room..took it for a drive with stock rim tire setup, the suspensions feels to ride the same, steering is a bit touchier, I;ll get the front end realighned as soon as I get my tires and rims, I dot drive my truck much due to haveing a company truck..I can try to get some pic up..if i can figure out how to post them..its sweeet looking..

liquid 1 03-03-2007 10:20 AM

Ok heres some pic of before and after..Yes I put the new 2" block on the rear, I dont know if it was the best kit to use but theres lots of trucks running block..this set keeps things close to stock angles..the drive line still looks good, with the front keys Im not sure how they get the tires back with tow in..I only have the new keys adjuster 3 treads just enough to keep the bolt in..2" in front is maxx without a lift kit..I would say..after doing this..

Hey nightrian, yep thats correct, even though, I think the blocks should go on bottom which would keep the bump stops in stock position..But I followed the directions of the kit and put new blocks on top of the stock, I;ll get some better pic of the front end and the new kews up for you...here in a bit..Its killing me I need tires and wheels, and Im trying to figure out what to get..my wife is about to shooot me..But she knows I need new tires..so nows a good time to do it up the way I want..Of course I wanted the $$$$ 6" lift but settled for the cheaper lift....errrr

If you look close to the pic, where the adjustment bolt is, just on the other side is another milled hole to use a puller to jack new key in so adjustment assembly will seat back in place.look at the lip bent a tic, It was so tight I had to use a a 10ton gearbox puller bolted across the cross member..you got to jack the key up in there above the adjustment treaded block so it will slip back in...To me the new keys were to hard to install...there twice as heavy as the stock keys and look to be hex turned close to 1/2" more...the front end is almost all the way down..I Indexed the keys the only way they would work..But Im going to call pro-performance just to make sure they are suppose to be that tight...the stock keys were jacked almost all the way up had maybe a 1/4 left stock..for maybe 1/4"lift..It rides like factory so I hope it will be ok.you think the CV joints and boots will hold up, I siloconed them good...Im looking at the dick cepek DC1 wheels and bigger tires. It feels like Im up more than 2"..LOL sweet

How much did the the torsion bar lift cost? Can the alignment be brought in without any extra parts?

liquid 1 03-05-2007 03:52 PM

It was a 1 1/2" to 2" level lift kit..It was $170.00 shipped to the door..Kit includes 2 front re-hexed keys, and 2 2" rear blocks stock taper fit good. with new U BOLTS..I just did this mod right after nightrian built this post so it was perfect timeing..I have,nt gotten the front end aligned yet but have driven truck with no problem, tires are already worn out.., But I got some insight to a good front end shop and the guy said we might need to get a more concentric cam for the top a-arm if so there cheap..$10.00 to $20.00, He,s checking on a deal on tires and rims as well, man tires are high..wanting to stick to radial and an agressive tread..I;ll post pic when done..Im trying to figure out which tires and rims to run..thinking of the Dick depek DC1 17x9 rims with a brigstone radial 33x12.50xR17 or so..I measured with a tape and 34" to 35" of total clearance easy so Im figureing I can go at least 33.8" tire with no problem.Ive never owned a truck with a suspension lift, I wanted the 4" to 6" lift but the cheapest one is $1300.00 from rough country..My local 4x4 center wanted 3,200.00 for a 6" cheaper than 4" installed not includeing the tires..wow..my wife had a stroke lol..I might go with a 6" later on..But I feel like its something me and a few buddies that work for ford I know can install it..The kit I got give me good lift, but would be great to be able lower the front diff 1 1/2" to be perfect so cv joints would run closer to stock angle..

liquid1, you should be able to clear 35's with out any trouble. I run a set of 33x12.50-17 cooper discover st's on the factory FX4 wheels with no lift. Only time it has rubbed was at full turn while running over a good curb in a parking lot. Check my gallery for some pics of before and after.
