Wrong Belt Tensioner

I just received the belt tensioner, but it has a longer arm than the stock, what can I do? Anybody have had this issue? it can be used only changing a large belt? ?, How many inches more for the belt?Or I have to reorder a new one?

Help me please. Thanks in advance.:-X22

The belt lenght is going to be difficult to measure. You could take a tape measure and wrap it around the pulleys just like the belt would ride and get a lenght, you would do this with the longer tensioner of course. Get a belt that's 1" shorter than you're mesasurement cause the tensioner was all the way down. I hope that makes sense.

Yes it make sense to me, my doubt was if the new tensioner with the long arm could be use, so now I know, I m going to change it probably tomorrow.

One time I measure the length of the belt, using a cord or string (i dont know what is better to write it), and I thinks is easy to wrap it around the pulleys, than with a tape measure, Im not sure, Ill see tomorrow, and I going to remember to get a belt that's 1" shorter than Im mesasurement, and I need luck to find one here in my Town.

You might get lucky and find the right belt. Not sure about the torx size.

47-63 Nm or 35-46 Lb Ft

I already put the new belt tensioner with the upgraded arm and finded a new belt 2 inches more of length, and I was waiting for the torque numbers (47-63 Nm or 35-46 Lb Ft, thanks to Jim). Been there I also change the bearings to the idle pulleys.

Today I m going to torque the screws and try with the "older" belt (one month), as tanglewood16137 suggest, and maybe I get my extra money back and dont expend more with and other for spare (I have the real old belt for spare).

The torx size is T-50.
Thanks all of you.:-drink

Well I tried to put the "older" belt and it was possible, but with difficulties, first with the screw of the tensor, to put the socket on it, because the longer arm and the shorter belt, but at the end, I could put it, and you have to traction up a lot the tensioner, and when you release the tension, the belt is very tight with the torsion of the tensioner, so I have to change againg the belt for the new one (2 inches more), becuse IMHO I think with the "older" belt very tight the bearings of the pulleys are going to fail sooner.:-X01
