Flathead distributor vacuum

Hi! I am in the process of rebuilding a '50 flattie and am planning to put on an Offy 2X2 intake with Stromberg 97's (new). Will I be able to use the stock dizzie and pull adequate vacuum off of one of the new 97's? If not, what other good options are there?

In general I have heard thet the answer is no, there is not enough vacuum to run the stock dizzie (you have 1/2 total CFM at each carb).

Here is a good techno article on this subject:
http://www.btc-bci.com/~billben/navarro.htm

You can find it at the "Techno Source for the 1932 thru 1953 Flathead Ford" site:

There is a discussion about some ideas for fixing the problem (especially that you sould not use manifold vacuum for this purpose). I don't have practical experience with this, but others here will likely be able to help you out with some ideas.

Good luck.

The stromberg carbs do not have the necessaty vacuum ports to run the factory load-o-matic distributer. Your best bet is a mallery unilite.
