Is the intake for a 4.6L the same as a 5.4L?
 

Not real familar with the Ford "modular" engines and what interchanges between the 4.6 and 5.4. It seems that I have the dreaded coolant leak from the crossover tube on the 5.4 in my '99 Expy. I'm handly enough with the wrenches so after looking over the procedure, I'm gunna give it try. So I've been poking around and haven't had much luck ID'ing a replacement intake. I have come across a couple that were listed for a 4.6 and that's what has brought this question up.

The rig has 112K on it and other than this leak and a couple other minor 'tweaky' things, it runs great!!

No,the 4.6 and 5.4 are not the same.They look the same but the 5.4 is a taller block therefore the 5.4 intake is wider then the 4.6.
I have a 5.4 intake off of my 03 if you need one.
Took it off when I did a Lightning conversion.

the one I took off my 2001 F150 5.4L has the ford sticker that says 4.6/5.4L so i would've thought they were the same.

if anyone else needs the stock setup, let me know....i put the K&N Series 77 intake on mine.

I think hes talking about the intake (manifold)!
The air intake may very well be the same.
