Hello group, This is my first post here. I just bought a 89 Bronco Xlt and I am looking for a plow. I found one in the classifieds. The plow is a 4 way Fisher 8' minute mount plow and it say's it fit's a 92-97 Ford f-250. Will this fit or do I have to modify it?

The frame on 92-97 F-250's and 350's is the same as F-150's and Bronco's from 92-96. I am not aware of any problems using this setup. The only thing to make certain of is the spring and shock configuration. I know the 350's of that vintage have a solid axle in front with leaf springs. I'm not certain about the 250's though. The concern would be of course, the weight of the plow on the 1/2 ton front axle and suspension. Someone here certainly knows the answer regarding the front axle and suspension though. You might consider heavy-duty coils in front if you plan on running a plow anyway. factory quad shocks would be in your favor as well. Good luck.

Well the guy that's selling the plow got back to me and said the subframe would not match up. he said I would have to call one of the local dealers which sell them for $500. He said he would sell me the blade and hydraulics for $750. sounds like a can of worms to me. Maybe I should wait and see if I can get the whole setup.(BTW) I do have the quad shock setup. Would the heavy duty springs give a hard ride?

Heavy duty springs might be a bit harder than stock when the plow is not on the truck but should compensate well for the weight of the plow and associated hardware. As you mentioned, if there are components that won't match right up, you mihgt wait and look for a setup that is better suited to the truck. There are many horror stories out there about the ill effects of plows that may or may not be designed for the trucks they are hanging from.

An 8' plow is too large (and heavy) for a half ton truck (and Bronco) Maximum should be 7 1/2' Shop around for a newer set-up (complete) from a similar year pick-up or bronco. Try not to have to piece one together! As for springs, whenever I plowed I installed those twist in knuckles (2 per coil spring) in the lowest coil loop of the spring and removed them when I took the plow off. They are designed to raise the vehicle approx. 2" and are available at any auto parts store. After 10 years of intermittant plowing there was no droop, sag or damage to the front springs! Also, for heavy snows put lots of weight in back. Keep the front end and all 8 u-joints greased and you'll be a happy camper!!! Good luck!

hmmm i'm kinda thinking back several years when i went shopping for a plow for my 88 f-150 i beleive you need to look for a 7 1/2 footer as some on has already stated from a 87-91 bronco or f-150 if you don't have the heavy front end then i'd add some heavier springs as i did.

I had a 90 Bronco with a plow. I bought the plow after and put it on myself. The plow i bought was off of a f250 of the same year. It was not a minute mount or a fisher but it fit to the bronco without any mods. The only thing to look for is whether you have the quadrashock front end or just two shocks. The quadrashock front end is not the heavy duty front axle. As I recall the Front axle is 2800 GAWR on the light duty....3550 on the heavy duty. I had to put airbags in. I also opted for the onboard compressor. With the 94 that i had now i also had to upgrade the front springs. But in all if you are doing driveways it is worth it. The short wheelbase is awsome for manuverability.
