Oil pressure woes #2

Just to let you guys know, I fired up the old motor today-it's only in the thirties today here. Oil pressure went to about 30 lbs for about 30 seconds then fell to about 5 lbs, way before the fast idle solenoid kicked her down to normal idle. Any way, since it had a few lbs., I moved a couple of my other trucks around and came back after it had kicked down and idled for a couple of minutes. I played with the throttle to see if I could get the oil pressure needle to move, at best, I got it to jiggle. I'm thinking that putting an oil pump in it first would be the best way to go, seeing as how I've no idea how many miles are on the motor, an oil pump at this point would be an insurance policy. If this doesn't do it, then I guess I'll check out the cam bearings. If that doesn't do it, well, I guess I'll be on here crying to you guys! Ha! Ha! Ha!

What oil are you using and what filter...... is this an aftermarket manual oil guage or one of fords better ideas/rejects.
