5.5 million dollar Cobra sold at Barrett Jackson
Now that's my kind of car.
I've always been a hugh fan of both the AC Cobra and the GT40 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070121/...us/car_auction |
WOW is all I can say.
|
What a fun way to kill buzzards.
|
5.5 million good thing it wasnt made of solid gold!
|
I watched that auction most of last week, but missed the final day. That must have been some interesting bidding. Fords were some of the best selling cars this year. A '68 shelby 500 convertible sold for over 250K too.
Always fun to watch a bunch of guys with waaaay too much disposable income buying up a bunch of old cars. Tough life! |

Back in the day when I had a boss I remember he sold an original GT40 for $750,000.00. I bet he wished he had hung onto it.

312 '68 GT500 convertibles...I thought it, just didnt write it.
|
5.5 million is a lot but I think this will trump it....

If I understand right, this was Carroll Shelby's personal Cobra?
That would make it the Holy Grail of American muscle cars. $5.5 mil seems like alot for a car, but I'd like to see what it would go for in 5, 10 or 20 years. |
