How not to spend money!

Well I learned a lesson. I finally fixed my oil leak but what a lesson. I knew the leak was coming from the HPOP fittings that the high pressure oil lines connected to. I jumped the gun and ordered the o-ring kit for $29 bucks. After I replaced the o-rings the leak did not stop so I looked closer and found it was the connection between the fittings and the lines. I went to the dealer and purchased the fittings for $24 dollars and guess what they came with! They came with the damn o-rings. You can purchase brand new quick release fittings that screw into the pump and get two free o-rings and still come out ahead. I would advise anyone needing to stop a leak from the pump to go ahead and purchase the fittings from the dealer and replace them regardless. You get two new o-rings and two new fittings for $5 less.

Good info thanks for the tip.

Why is it that so many lessons involve needlessly spending money? I'd like a few more "free" lessons in life.

Oh well. At least you have two backup O-rings to add to your pile of misc. PSD parts. :)

I can afford the free lessons, Its the lessons I have to learn on my own that cost so much. Started with getting married and having kids. LOL

Thanks for the tip Olddog

That's good to know! I was going to purchase some HPOP orings online for $29. I'll give my dealer a call tomorrow for the fittings and see what happens :D
