Keyless remote

I just bought a 2001 f350 crewcab diesel and the remotes work backwards.
If i hit the lock button all the dors unlock, if I hit the unlock once the drivers door locks, twice and the other doors lock. Where to look to correct this??
I did try another remote from my old truck same thing happends

Is your truck upside down?

Welcome to the forum! That is a peculiar situation you have. My first instinct would be to switch the battery around. (just joking) Looking at your remote, is there any way that the rubber buttons could have been switched accidently? Like say if the previous owner while changing the battery dropped the remote and it came apart, then when he(she) put it back togther, reversed the rubber buttons. And was too lazy to open it back up and reverse them....? A shot in the dark. Maybe try reprogramming the remotes.

Well he might have but the buttons were not switched asi i stated i also used a remote from my other 350 that I traded in and it also does the same, could this be a GEM problem??

Wait..... you used the remote off of another truck and it worked on your present truck? That shouldn't happen.

tigerbbs 01-11-2007 11:43 PM

I programed it for the new truck and it still worked backwards.

what would happen if you switched the battery in the remote around....... possibly it is in backwards.... i dunno though, maybe it wouldnt work at all like that.... some things do and some dont.

check under the dash and see if the prev owner had and removed an alarm system or remote start they could have wired it back wrong. And please becareful if you switch the batteries around remember you will have 4 reverse gears and only on forward.

sorry i couldnt help it but I have seen power locks work reversed if you wire the alarm system wrong.

It sounds like the lead activting the power door locks (lock and unlock) have been reversed. I think deputybrandon is on the right track, PO had a remote start or alarm on it at one time.
