Repair cost P0171 P0174 Intake gaskets 2002 F150 V6
 

I just got my truck back from the local Ford dealer in Auburn CA. As I thought it would be the gaskets for the upper intake. I did try to get the plenum off to do this myself, but I could not figure out how to get the back 2 bolts off. Ford told me I need to do an induction service and change the gaskets and replace the sparkplugs. $600-700 YIKES. I am thinking that if someone could give me adivice or assistance I could do the job myself. I just am worried that I don't have the correct tools to take off the plenum and re-torque it down. Can anyone give me some suggestions. I live in the greater Sacramento area.

with the right tools it is totally a do it yourselfer. plenum and upper intake jobs are easy.
