Door locks 50 F-1
Can anyone tell me if the 1950 f-1's have one key or two keys to operate ign and door locks? I think
the truck has two separate keys, but would like to confirm. Thanks Barry |

My original '50, F-5 COE (less than 20K miles) has one key that fits both the door and the ignition. For what it is worth, my '37 uses only one key also.

Depending on if you have a locking glove box. It varied back then, some trucks had a key for door locks and ignition and a second for the glove box. Then again, when some had a locking glove box, that key was also for the doors. My father had 3 of these old Fords and that was how they were set up.

Wow, I have seen many 48-50 pickups and I have never seen one with a locking glove box.. They actually made them? Also, mine has always used to seperate keys for the door and ignition. Not,really sure how they worked from factory.

48 and 49 had one (they all it rope key) cause it had rope indention around the edge of the key.The only one that had two keys was the Five star cabs and that was in 51. you could get the glove box key from the parts dept before. But as a extra assessory back then. and I have two complete set with rope key.
