crew cab

This past summer i purchised a 79 F-350 crew cab with an 8ft bed. lol i found it on route 20 between Rock Cave and Webster springs. this truck is from north carolina and is rust free from bumper to bumper. it has a 351 m and a c6 auto. guy said the motor was blown so i got it for $600 turns out with a radiator and a starter it runs perfect. i want to know if there are anymoe trucks like this in WV. i am interested in buy as many as i can get and would much appreciate a 4wd chassis. i am located in the Mannington are so any info is greatly appreciated

crazyredneckanyhow,

Nutter Fort here.
To bad you had not posted last summer, I was working in Mannington building a wall at Mannington Manner.

I would like to find a decent early 80's diesel crew 4x4 myself.

my uncle told me about an 80 crew cab 8ft bed 4x4 somewhere in mannington but he doesnt knwo who owns it or wat drivetrain it has but as soon as i find out ima try my best to buy it

An 80 would have a gas motor in it, 83 was the first year for the diesel.

there is a 78 or 79 extended cab sitting at "all about auto" on rt 250 just above rt 50 near grafton -- been siting there awhile -- looks pretty rough but if anyone's interested i'll stop and check on it

good deal i knew it had been there a good while -- he seems like a pretty decent guy -- i talked to him about getting my old bronco running but i think i'll just put a long block in it

Lowel Larue has several older Fords at his salvage yard way east of Grafton on 50. Several miles past the 50 and 92 intersection on the left going east on 50.
When I was shopping for my D 60 front axle he tried to sell me one out from under a mid 70 model, to much stuff to change to install it in my 86 though and he wanted to much money for one that old in my opinion.

Outlawwv 01-28-2007 08:09 PM

lowell always wants too much -- but he usually has it or can get it

1200 for a mid 70's D60 that needed a lot of work and parts changing to work in my 86 truck.
Found a 1992 D60 that was complete for 1500, and I put another 1500 in it before I installed it. But not one single problem since, and the traction lok is nice in the mud and snow.

If you took all the vehicles Lowell owns out of WV, there would be 50% less in several counties. I bet there were 500 Ford trucks at the one yard I was at out off Rt. 50. I have seen several sitting along the road at several places before you get to his shop, I understand they are his as well. There are a couple nice ones sitting by the intersection of 50 and 26 where you turn off to go to Tunnelton that are his also.
