I occasionally help out with a friends late model pit crew but I wish I had the time and money to get one of my own.

http://racerhub.com/images/cars/780.jpg this is my father's car. #88 1994 chevy lumina

i bought myself a car last summer, but it needs a lot of work to be race ready. now i'm having a new motor built for it. i plan on being ready for next season. my car is going to be #66. i've got brand new 2003 monte carlo body that came with car.

our track is a paved 1/4 mile oval that was originally built in 1949.

Im gonna start helping out in the pit crew for my friend and his dad's BMW race team. should be pretty cool.

Yeah, I am Pit chief for my sister, but ill probably be racing Bomber class also which is completely stock spec and all driving. Its at Raceway Park in Shakopee Minnesota which i guess was the first paved round track in the midwest in 1956. Ive been watchin amatuer racing since I was about 11 goin to the track with my dad, I never really got into nascar ever.

ive really never been into the nascar thing myself. makes me dizzy, haha.

currently im not into anything offical, i do help out two buddys who frequently run there cars down the drag strip in Cordova IL, one lf them runs a 95 sho, the other a 03 lancer evo. we have a blast out there, usually a few serious guys show up, other wise its a bunch of dumb kids in stock hondas with fart cans. most of the times its just single light racing, the green light is the only light that flashes and who ever makes it to the end first advances to the next round, no offical timing is used.

i am building a 460 to spec for my 82 f100, i'll be running it with other local super stock trucks at the fair grounds a couple times later this year.

My girlfriend's dad has 2 SHO's. i gotta talk to them about them, and see if i can buy one off him. right now theyre just sitting in his driveway.

=\\.

kinda disapointing.

fast frank 66 01-07-2007 06:14 PM

Is that a 660 or a 700?

mudracin74 01-07-2007 10:30 PM

i race round track here, but its sure not paved. we dig some holes and haul in some good dirt and dump on 60,000 gallons of water. nothin like ford trucks to dominate the mud racing circuits:D

ford4life88 01-11-2007 09:03 AM

I drag race some in my stang. im looking for a car w/some power to race in bracket class.

cdrmotorsports 01-11-2007 08:07 PM

I race asphalt circle track mini stocks in NH from time to time, but the expense is killing me. My whole setup is for sale right now.

Matts72 01-14-2007 12:16 AM

We race circle track, 3/8 mile dirt. 3 cars, 2 Modifieds, 1 Super Stock, all Ford powered. We also have a drag strip and we run a 68 F100 (11.2 second 1/4 mile) and a 69ish Mustang (kit car with fibreglass body) that consistently posts 8.4 second 1/4s with its alcohol burning 13.5:1 429. We also have two Mud Trucks, one hobby stock 72 F100 with 6" lift and 35" tires, and one Super Modified 79 F150 with D60/70U axles, 9" of lift, 44" tires, and a healthy 400. Its a lot of fun and I build almost all of the motors.

I ran Formula SAE (sport-bike powered open wheel cars) all the way through college, and I've autocrossed a variety of cars over the past few years. The lack of $$$$ seems to be a common theme ;)

There is a local kart track that does a season of racing for about $750, I would like to try that.
