To keep a thread going...

I discovered yesterday that I parted one of these unicorns out back in the mid 90's when I first got into these trucks. Unfortunately, the only thing I have left of it that I know of is the front end parts that I put under another truck. And it is unique to any other truck I have ever seen. The knuckles are machined in such a way that they accept the standard 8 lug rotors BUT!!!!! Get this! The knuckles only accept the single piston caliper brakes as all the other half tons have. So basically they are like a 5 lug but a tad taller. And everything fits together / factory glove. But from what I'm reading, some had 5 lug and some 8? I can take pics and post if any interest?

Unfortunately I sold the rear end. It was a Dana 60 with 3.73 open gears but the shoes and drums are narrower than a normal D60. But it's gone so I can't prove it. But remember it well!

Another unique feature on this truck was that it did not have any the long side trim NOR factory punched holes or tabs in the sides for them. I checked it very thorough. Was obvious in the doors for there's no way to fill the holes without noticing.

Mine was blue. 1976. And the only trim it had was the fender badges that read F250. All the others I've read on here had F150 badges? Bought it from a man who had absolutely no knowledge of the truck for it was inherited and he plainly didn't want it. The price was around scrap so I pounced. And was a tad disappointed when I found out it only had single caliper brakes. So they went onto a short bed just for uniqueness.

It never dawned on me until I was asked about the F130 from another guy on Facebook. And low and behold I searched and found this thread. Then I pulled my old titles and there it was. There's a chance I may have the door tag for I still have some old doors. But I never even cared about this truck (obviously since I parted it out) until I found out about the F13 deal.

So this one basically does not exist anymore. Only the parts that went a million directions except for the front end.

Welcome to FTE. Ol'Red sounds like a keeper...and the perfect tow vehicle for that red aluminum fish boat in the background.
Top Three F-130 Theories so far...
1. Early prototype or work-around for EPA laws
2 Limited production run for Forestry (or similar) contract
3. My favorite, as suggested by Bullitt390, a Prototype for the Mexican F-200.
l would imagine any F-130 survivor would be very rare and thus desirable to some Forders collectors.

Just bought one!

I just bought a F-130 I’m pretty sure.
Guy said it was a F-250 and the sticker says so but there’s a inline 6 300cu with 2 wheel drive and 8 lug. But the vin says F13 which means F-150. I suppose I got an oddball like myself.

Could be a replaced door with the warranty plate brought over from the donor.

What does the title say?

Actually, the fact that it has the 300 6 cylinder doesn't mean anything (other than you got a great engine). The 300 was standard across the board. My F-350 and F-100 have the 300. But so far, it sure sounds like you got the F-130 mystery truck! Congratulations!!

And another one is found!! Sure wish I could find the info on the folks I sold mine too, I'd like to have it back!

Curious... has anyone ever done a Marti Report on one of these?
