1960 Clutch Master Cylinder Rebuild???

My master clutch has gone bad. Can they be rebuilt with a kit? And if so, is there some place special to buy the kit? Thank you

Yes, they can be rebuilt with a kit. You should be able to get the kit most anywhere. I'd try NAPA first. Either that or look in the yellow pages for Brake & Clutch.

The kits are pretty basic. Its a quick and easy rebuild

The NAPA # for the kit is 211 it should be $13.49
For a new master # 25517 $92.49

The problem is that if the seals go, that's probably because the bore is pitted. And you can't hone away deep pits. So, check the bore before wasting money on a rebuild kit.

I was lucky on my 57, just needed a clean up with a hone and the kit. There wasn`t any bad rust or pits as the cups gave out from age and use.
