Shuttering @50 mph's
Well when the truck is cold it runs just great until it shifts right at the 50 mph mark, it doesnt lose power or like completly shut down it just hesitates/shutters until i get up over 55, ? It will do this if i stay at 50-55 until warm up. Im not sure if i want to bring it to dealer bcz it runs and pulls great and i dont want that to change

Just on first speculation, I would point to an injector.

I think i know the outcome of this question but im going to ask it anyway, if i leave this go will i have more than just that problem, how long do i have to drive it before it causes something else to go wrong, i have a holiday trip that round trip will be around 2400 miles here after christmas. will i be safe to wait until after the trip?

If you have a code scanner, see if it has thrown a cylinder contribution/balance code. If so and you can determine which cylinder it is; in the event it gets more severe or starts smoking, you can always simply unplug the injector to continue to drive. However, common sense says that since you apparently have a couple of weeks before your trip and its about a 3 hour job to change an injector; I would take it on in for repair. |
Hey I have the same problem but only after it's warm. I slow down to low 50's and the bucking/shutters and hesitation starts. No smoke, appears to run fine when stepping on the gas. I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer, 1st time in 69,500 miles.

No smoking at all thank god, Is injector trouble the only reason why this would be happening?thanks for your wisdom Matt!

It kind of feels like the transmission is running at too low of rpm for the speed its going because it is right after it shifts into the gear at 1100 or so rpms

I just had the same problem with mine and it annoyed me to death. I took it back to the dealer 3 times for this and they told me nothing was wrong. Finally, the dealer got an engineer to look it over and recommended the replacement of injectors 1,3,5,6, & 7. However, no codes were thrown and the power balance test only showed minor differences. So far everything is great but it was worse when colder and its been abnormally warmer here so we shall see soon.

Went to the dealer today and they hooked the comp ut to it and there was no codes thrown, nothing wrong, but he did do the latest flash, it worried me hearing all the bad things aobut flashing but to tell you the truth my truck runs even better and i got better mpg's. well see what it does tommorrow when cold hopefully prob is solved!

Just pick mine up from the dealer, needed a new EGR valve, they had to reflash and it seems to have all the power it had, checking fuel mileage tomorrow, about 500 miles, that should tell me what I want to know.

Mileage has not changed maybe a little better .5- 1 mpg, this is on the first go round with 480 miles. But what I have now is a buzzing noise that sounds like the injectors are still firing for about 30 seconds after I turn off the engine. Never did it before. Any body else have any noise in the area of the top of their engine after shutting it off.?

New reflash cycles the injectors at shutdown to clear them of oil. That helps to keep the injectors from hanging up when the oil is cold.
|
The new flash does this. I've heard here it is to help the injectors. Maybe someone has more specifics.
